Case study
From one client to $32,000 a month.
Lowell Mora — Founder, ImpactCFO
The client
Lowell Mora runs ImpactCFO, a fractional CFO firm working almost exclusively with family-owned businesses between $5 and $50 million in sales. His work helps those owners reach a point where they can execute a transition plan or an external exit — after a long career working full time inside family-owned companies.
The challenge
When the work began, ImpactCFO was roughly six months old. Lowell had one client carried over from earlier work and revenue of about $2,500 a month. He knew his craft, but marketing was not where his skill or his enjoyment sat: no clear message, no lead engine, and a quickly built website that did not represent the business.
The clarity shift
The first piece of work was his signature talk. Getting clear on what he was actually selling — and to whom — gave him language he now uses every day with clients, not just on stage. As he puts it, he knows what he is selling, which is why he stopped taking contracts that undersold his value.
The work
It started with the Write Your Talk work with Dolores, then grew into an ongoing fractional marketing team: Laura on content and messaging, a professionalised website, Simplero as the CRM, weekly LinkedIn articles and email, a twice-monthly live session called Ask the CFO, virtual assistant support, and a stage booking system that now generates leads.
The result
- Monthly revenue grew from about $2,500 to $32,000 in roughly 18 months
- A signature talk he still uses today — and language he uses daily with clients
- Website professionalised and Simplero set up as the CRM
- Weekly LinkedIn articles and an email send running consistently
- Ask the CFO launched — a twice-monthly live session, now with guest speakers
- Stage booking system producing leads for his type of business
The bigger shift
In Lowell's words, the annual investment in Masters in Clarity is less than one month of his current revenue. Beyond the numbers, the shift was consistency: clear on what he sells, showing up every week, and no longer trying to do the marketing himself. His advice to anyone considering it — “Do it yesterday.”

“Dolores helped me write my stage speech, which I still use today. There are five things I say to my clients on a daily basis that came out of that.”
